President Trump, after Iran shot down a U.S. drone operating in international airspace in the Middle East, had planned a military response.
He said the U.S. was "cocked and loaded" for the attack, but then he backed off, explaining it was disproportionate to launch an attack that likely would kill 150 people in exchange for a drone.
But now there's another concern about a military strike.
It comes from MSNBC's Chris Hayes, who says he fears Trump will launch a strike during the "2020 debate."

That apparently would be Wednesday or Thursday night, when nearly two dozen Democratic presidential nomination hopefuls are on a debate stage in Miami.
Hayes wrote on Twitter, "I swear I have a fear he launches some kind of military strike *during one of the debates.*"

The Twitter news site Twitchy, however, predicting the debates will be a "train wreck," wondered "why Trump would want to distract."
Chuck Ross commented on Twitter that Hayes has "really gone off the deep end" and shouldn't be taken seriously.
Trump tweeted earlier: "We were cocked & loaded to retaliate last night on 3 different sights when I asked, how many will die. 150 people, sir, was the answer from a general. 10 minutes before the strike I stopped it, not … proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone. I am in no hurry, our Military is rebuilt, new, and ready to go, by far the best in the world."
He later responded to Iranian threats against the United States by saying any attack on American interests would produce a response that would "mean obliteration."
