Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A bill before the South Carolina House of Representatives would require home school students to take the same standardized test as public school students.
"If I want my children to do well, I'm going to have to change my curriculum so that it's what the public schools are doing and that goes against why we chose to homeschool," said Ashlee Vickery who opposes the bill.
Vickery says her children do take standardized tests, however the specific test is not regulated by the state legislature.
"They need to be held accountable but I don't feel like the government needs to do that for me," said Vickery.
